The Yorkshire auctioneer is on a quest to help save our secret stately homes.

Auctioneer Angus Ashworth’s lifelong love affair with historic country houses takes flight on an extraordinary personal mission to help save Yorkshire’s stately homes for the nation.

He’ll be spending the weekend with aristocratic owners of houses steeped in history and heritage who now live with huge financial pressures, thanks to the costs of maintaining their grand but outdated homes.

In this brand new series Angus will be using his skills as a businessman, valuer and house clearance specialist, scouring attics and cellars for forgotten relics that can be sold at auction to help fund repairs and restoration work.

He’ll be arriving in style in a vintage biplane, giving him a birds eye view of the problems his weekend hosts face. From fishing rods to train sets, lost portraits to stuffed pets, Angus unearths relics of a bygone age and turns them into cash to preserve our heritage for future generations.
