From the rugged dales to the bustling cities and stunning coastline, Yorkshire is home to six million people – and the crew of the county’s two emergency helicopters are there to pick up the pieces when things go badly wrong.

With full access to their emergency missions, this series follows incidents from the initial 999 call to the patient treatment on the ground and ongoing treatment in major trauma centre hospitals.

From locals hurt at work, to high speed motorway crashes and tourists in trouble on the coast, this is a revealing insight into the lives of the paramedics, doctors and pilots with exclusive access to their high risk, high adrenaline world.
