Air TV’s brand new YouTube channel has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award.

First Landings has been shortlisted for “Best Short-form Format” at this year’s Broadcast Digital Awards.

It’s an innovative new YouTube series with a simple format, which has launched to great acclaim from both within and outside the industry.

Capturing the genuine heart-stopping moments when student pilots attempt land a plane completely on their own for the very first time – this series launched in February 2026 and has already attracted a loyal fanbase which continues to grow.

Filmed using a mobile fixed rig of 360 degree and fixed cameras within the aircraft, each weekly video captures the genuine moment the instructor steps out and a new student pilot is left to do it alone. Each of the main videos is also complemented by a series of vertical shorts to maintain fan engagement between each film.
